Well my dear storyteller, we are back.
I don't know if you missed me but I certainly missed you. But even as much as I did, it wasn't enough for me to sacrifice this much-needed and intentional break from The Storytelling Lab.
Okay, the original intention was a two-month break. It turned into six months.
But that's because I truly listened to my head and heart (and body) for once.
At the end of last year, I was going through probably the toughest period of my life —you may know some of the details. While professionally things were going pretty great (TEDx Talk! Book release!), my personal life was crashing in on me.
So I put many of my systems on pause so I could reset and come back stronger.
And you know what? It worked!
Life hasn't gotten easier, necessarily, but the things I've put in place to manage it have helped tremendously.
Now just because I haven't published an episode of the podcast, I have still been recording episodes with some of the world's leading storytelling experts.
And it's time to bring these conversations to you!
So The Storytelling Lab podcast is back!
In the first episode of Season 8, I wanted to address something that comes up in every workshop I conduct and every coaching session I lead.
"How do I know what story to tell?"
And that's a fair question to ask when you are tasked with generate new and compelling content every day.
But the answer is simple:
You start with your end goal — your objective.
Just like when you are writing out your stories, you must know where you are heading (the ending) so you can determine the best path to get there!
“Every decision you make, whether strategic, operational, or organizational, must have a reason behind it. Because without that, you cannot measure its success. It's the same with your stories.”
If you need a simple formula to follow to create your brand stories consistently, listen at the link above!
As always, I hope you enjoy the episode!
Peace and Love,
Rain
