Why do people love stories so much?
And why do gurus and experts keep telling you that you need to use storytelling in your marketing strategy?
It’s because storytelling is absolutely the most effective way of creating human connection. What you do with that connection, depends on your objective, mission, or purpose. But the problem is that in order to establish that connection with the humans you seek to serve—your clients, customers, and communities—you must first win their attention. And if you’re going to do that while competing with everything else vying for their attention, you must maximize your impact in minimal time.
In this book, author B. Rain Bennett helps you understand how to leverage the art and science of storytelling, even when you lack the access, skills, or knowledge of new technological tools.

About the Author
B. Rain Bennett is a two time Emmy-nominated filmmaker, writer, keynote speaker, and storytelling coach with over 15 years of experience producing documentary films. He directed and produced his first feature length documentary by traveling the world with just a backpack and a Canon DSLR camera. That film, Raise Up: The World is Our Gym won “Best of the Fest” at the Hip Hop Film Festival and Bennett secured a deal with Red Bull Media House for worldwide release.
After over five years making this film with no financing, no crew, no big-name talent, and as a first-time director, he learned that no matter how under-resourced someone is when making a movie, if the story is great and targets the hearts of the audience, it can have a massive impact.
With his company Six Second Stories, Bennett helps small businesses, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs create short-form, heartfelt marketing videos to motivate their audiences to take action. He has been published in Huffington Post and Breaking Muscle and has written over 150 articles for his weekly column at Chapelboro.com. His films and articles have been seen around the world and he hosts a weekly podcast called The Storytelling Lab.
His mission is simple: to teach people how to leverage storytelling to grow their communities, deepen their connections, and maximize their impact in minimal time.
Bennett resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he is currently writing his first feature-length screenplay, as well as in post-production for his next feature documentary, Finding Croatoan, about the unending quest to solve the story of “America’s oldest mystery,” the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island.
In 2020, he released his second narrative short film, The Casserole Brigade, which won the Silver Award for "Best Short Dark Comedy" at the Independent Shorts Awards, "Best Comedy" at the Southern States Indie Fan Film Fest and the "Screenwriting Award of Merit" at the Foothills Film Festival.
